This recipe is amazing! We love it! Easy and fast. I had 3 1/2 burgers left from the 11. My kids devour these. I wrap the patties that are left in some saran wrap and stick them in the freezer. They heat up easily and are delicious crumbled over a bed of rice. (Just saying there are other ways to eat these bundles of joy)
Jeff Novick is a fantastic cook! We love everything his does for Dr. McDougall and his program. This recipe was in Rip Esselstyn's cookbook Plant-Strong, page 203. You can pause the video and see the original recipe. As always I double everything.

Ingredients:
2 cans kidney beans drained & rinsed
2 cans garbanzo beans drained & rinsed. (or 4 C cooked garbanzo beans)
2 C old fashioned organic rolled oats
2 C brown rice (I used long grain for this, I have also used short grain brown rice and it is as good) I usually cook 1 C of rice and it makes 4 cups cooked. I stick the extra rice in a salad the next day.
2 1/2 C sweet potato diced. I have steamed and baked the potatoes. Does not make a difference which ever way you do it.
1/2 C BBQ sauce
2 Tbsp of each: onion powder, garlic powder, no salt seasoning, parsley, bbq seasoning.
You can add what ever spices you want!
Broil for 15-10 min on each side or bbq them on the grill
