Puget Sound Crab Report - Raw Crab Cam Footage From 2024-08-04 from Stabicraft on the Sound. Almost two hours of raw crab cam footage from my past video on crab pot line length, and upcoming video on using cut bait for crab.
Conditions on August 04, 2024: Sunny, warm, stiff breeze.
Location: North side of Hat Island, WA.
Time of day/Tidal condition: Later afternoon/early evening on the incoming tide.
Bait: Flounder carcesses.
Notes:
The weighted pot dropped quickly and never moved. The un weighted pot appears to have had heavy waves pull it along the bottom. You can see it being dragged along, and finally come to rest on an edge. The result, no crabs worth keeping. There were several crabs come along, but only a Red Rock crab made it's way in. After this I will be tying in my other 10 lb weight.
