On Tuesday afternoon, a cluster of severe storms hit Calgary, bringing heavy rain and hail. Environment Canada issued a warning of very strong wind gusts, nickel-sized hail, and torrential rain for several hours, which was cancelled around 5:30 p.m. The weather agency advised the residents to take immediate cover if the threatening weather approaches, and cautioned motorists that flash floods could cause pooling on roads.
