Sri Lanka is the world's fourth-largest producer of tea. The year 2017 marked the 150th year of Ceylon Tea: the Sri Lankan tea industry generates over USD 1 billion in export revenue and employing over 1 million citizens.
In this vlog I will bring you with me to the Giragama Tea Factory, located near Kandy. We'll get to see how the tea is processed, from the picking of the leaves to the final packaging. The video shows the machines used in the process and explains the different steps in the production. We also get to see some of the special blends that are made from the tea leaves. The video provides an interesting look into the production of Ceylon tea and the care and expertise that goes into making it.
