Trefin to Whitesands Bay - Wales Coast Path

Описание: Section 33 of the Wales Coast Path - After a difficult day of walking previously, Jan and Don rise to a glorious day of sunshine and cloudless skies.

Setting off from Trefin they walk the cliff past the wonderful Ynys Fach before dropping down into the splendour of Porthgain with its impressive ruins from the stone industry.

Cake from the Shed cafe is eaten and the lads are on their way upwards to see Penclegyr, a headland quarried for rock which was connected to Porthgain by tramway.

Just past here is the magnificent Blue Lagoon which is famed for locals and tourists diving into it's dark depths as well as more famed divers from the Red Bull cliff diving series.

Jan and Don marvel at this former quarry which lost its battle with the sea before moving on to Abereiddy where a Limahl lookalike is spotted on the beach.

Along the coast there is a steep drop into Aber-Pwll where Don undertakes some seal watching whilst Jan struggles down the descent. This is a sign of things to come when further along near Castell Coch Jan complains of a pain in his leg, and can't put any weight on his knee.

The map is consulted and the lads find that they are stuck on the path with no way off! They persevere using the stick for the rocky ups and downs until talking to two women at Gesail Fawr. They describe the ruggedness of the next section to St Davids Head -- it's not what they wanted to hear.

Will the lads make to Whitesands Bay - will they have to drop the tents early and wildcamp without limping to victory -- find out!
