Alopecia Totalis is a T-lymphocyte mediated autoimmune disease of the hair follicle resulting in non scarring hair loss. As you can imagine losing all your hair as a teenage girl in high school is beyond devastating. This patients mother had actually taken her to several Dermatology offices that said there was nothing more they could do after injections were not working. I’m glad they found my office. This is a treatment not everyone knows about, that takes many months to take affect but once it starts growing it usually keeps improving each month. Fingers crossed she keeps improving. It’s great to see her every few weeks and see her smile coming back! One of the best parts of my job is being able to truly help people everyday.
