Nicaragua just recently had an election, where FSLN Candidate Daniel Ortega won overwhelmingly. The US and their Western allies called the election a sham and implemented sanctions on Nicaragua as a result.
An independent media channel named Convo Couch went to Nicaragua to see the process for themselves and they're now speaking out against the US's claims, saying that their elections seemed more free and fair than the US. They're calling out the US for imperialistically interfering in Nicaragua.
Today I'll be talking to Convo Couch Co-host Craig Pasta Jardula to hear about his experience in Nicaragua, learn more about how their electoral system compares to the US, and discuss the hypocrisy of US sanctions against another socialist government in Latin America.
