This unedited family home video captures a special Christmas 1992 spent together with loved ones. My father’s parents, Lee and Bob, were visiting, along with my maternal grandmother Evonne and my uncle Tommy. Although Tommy was facing health challenges at the time, he remained in great spirits, bringing warmth and joy to the celebration. We were also joined by my second cousins and my father’s cousin and their family, making it a full and lively holiday gathering.
The morning was filled with opening gifts and stockings, trying out new toys, and enjoying each other’s company. For dinner, my Italian grandmother prepared fried cardone (cardoon) and sang “Happy Birthday” to Jesus before we all sat down to enjoy a baked turkey, filling the house with incredible aromas and holiday cheer. The vibes were wonderful all around—full of humor, laughter, love, and togetherness. Santa Claus was good to everyone that year.
