We learn here:
Icelanders seem not to see much difference between life and death
Could that be because death exists not, only change and cycles???
Drauga-sögur (-stories) are numerous in folklore in Iceland, and also know in modern times to be believed
Rune hagall is for Hel / Helia
Krosses are age-old symbols

• Edda Saga Iceland - Óðsmál study - English...
For the first time we see Gersimi, Högni’s wife-to-be. But the scene is not so romantic at all. Draugar (plural of draugur): Móri is a famous male-draugur, Skotta a famous female-draugur. . Gersimi is a girl on the farm where Móri (the male-draugur) and Skotta (the female draugur) “live”. They do everything to protect Gersimi from the evil cruel master of the house, “dominus”, who has the churchian right to beat his workers.
This episode becomes funnily disgusting, as this evil man is going to rape Gersimi in the dense darkness of night, but Skotta, the draugur (a living dead woman) seduces him. Disgustingly funny, actually.
