Day 2 2022 Hot Rod Power Tour! Hot Rods, Over heated cars, friends, and questionable meats!

Описание: The Motortrend Hot Rod Power Tour 2022 rolls on as everyone makes their way from Memphis Tennesse to Nashville Tennessee and on a true scrorcher of a day! The temps quickly cracked over 90 early in the morning and headed into the low 100s, the "on track" temps getting easily into the 120s! Unfortunately that began to spell disaster for a LOT of cars!

After editing late into the night, and enjoying a bit of Beall Street, we are a bit behind the clock so Jim and I fired up the cars and headed East on I-40. So far the 1970 Pontiac LeMans and the 1979 AMC AMX are trucking right along without much of a care. Interestingly the Pontiac 455 and the AMC 304 are getting rather similar fuel economy, which is to say somewhere in the low teens!

Unfortunately the major challenge for this day wasn't really the drive TO the venue, it was the drive INTO the venue. As a total breakdown between the Hot Rod Staff, the staff of Nashville Superspeedway, and NASCAR themselves we end up with thousands of cars inline and overheating. For many this went from stressful to catastrophic, for us it meant a little impromptu picnic in the trees with a couple new found friends and an opportunity to check out a couple vehicles we likely wouldn't have seen otherwise.

All in all 2022 HRPT has certainly not been free of challenges but we continue on after this into Day 3 which takes the whole party to Hoover Alabama! To everyone who's come up and said Hi we very much appreciate you and appreciate the support you have shown us with these videos. To everyone unable to attend this year but enjoying following along, hope you enjoy and we hope to see you on a Powertour sometime!
