This year is the 40th anniversary of one of the biggest news events to hit Guernsey. In 1978, the Orion Oil Rig Disaster prompted a major rescue operation in appalling weather conditions off the Guernsey coast.
The rig came loose and drifted onto Grandes Rocques with thirty-three crew still on board. And ITV's first ever female camera operator, Ros Henry, was first on the scene.
In the first of our special series, Memories from the Channel Archive, Wesley Smith invited Ros to look back at the film and some of her other career highlights....
