10 SIGNS YOU ARE IN A WRONG RELATIONSHIP

Abuse, manipulation, chronic lying, and gaslighting were also identified as destructive patterns that violate the standard, “Let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No’” (Matthew 5:37).

The panel further warned against conditional or transactional love, refusal to accept accountability, rebound relationships entered without healing, and neglect of a partner’s spiritual or personal growth. Listeners were urged to practice self-examination, recognizing that sometimes one’s own immaturity or contentious behavior can make a relationship unhealthy. While restoration is possible through counseling and mutual effort grounded in humility and mutual submission (Ephesians 5:21), the central message remains: if a relationship costs you your voice, your values, or your walk with God, it is too expensive—choose peace, wisdom, and God above all.
