Muthathi is situated on the banks of the Kaveri river near Malavalli in Karnataka. It is surrounded by a dense forest which is part of the Kaveri Wildlife Sanctuary. For nature lovers this is another alternative within 100kms(Around 110 kms) from Bangalore for doing nothing but enjoying the nature. One will experience the flowing river sound in the middle of the jungle.

How To Reach : To reach this place follow the google map route which goes via Bheemeswari. We tried the another route wile returning as we had taken this alternate route few years ago but now it is broken and in a horrible condition may be not meant to be used by tourists.

When to visit : You can visit in any season and still find a lot of reason to enjoy. Post monsoon season is ideal time.

Things to Watch out For - First thing drive slowly as lot of wild boars, monkeys and other animals are roaming on the way in this route. On your lucky day you may see Deers and peacocks and other birds.

Be cautious about crocodiles.We have not encountered crocodiles in any of our visits but crocodile attacks have been reported sometimes. Do not enter into water if are not sure about the water level as it is very deceiving and can be dangers as whirlpools are there especially in the main river. If you notice in this video we had entered into the side of the river which was safe to enter and not in the main river. So be cautious at this place where there might be whirlpools in the main river.

Things to know : There is a forest check post on the way to this place where forest officers will inspect the vehicle thoroughly.

At the main entrance to this place there is a small market where everything is available and at this entry point to the river from the market place is usually crowded. But you can walk a little to find a perfect calm and not so crowded place but don't go too far away.

This place has a lot of monkeys which might snatch food from you. So be careful and don't hurt them or don't get hurt by them.
