The Band of His Majesty’s Royal Marines Portsmouth performs stirring military music at Supertree Grove. Brought to Singapore alongside HMS Prince of Wales’s visit during Operation Highmast, this world‑class military band drew applause and fascination from the crowd.

The marches On Quarterdeck and The Captain General were composed by two of the Royal Marines most accomplished and famous Directors of Music, Frederick Ricketts aka Kenneth Alford and Sir Vivian Dunn respectively. The Trafalgar march was written by Wilhelm Zehle , who belonged to the Imperial German Marine Artillery. Oddly, in common with all of his marches, it was composed in the British style and, as it was published in England, it was given an appropriate title. Richard Waterer who composed Gibraltar was another distinguished RM Director of Music.
