This classic recording of "Unchained Melody" was discussed by Christopher Balchin in the class "The Opposites in Music" at the Aesthetic Realism Foundation, and later in the seminar you see in this video, in relation to this principle of Aesthetic Realism stated by Eli Siegel: "All beauty is a making one of opposites, and the making one of opposites is what we are going after in ourselves." Mr. Balchin, a New York City social studies teacher and Aesthetic Realism associate, says in this talk: "From the very first note, the opposites of difficulty and ease, and also pride and humility are one.... This singing has what I want my life to be--nothing is taken for granted; every single note is an achievement."
