This is a quick video showing a little test program for the Sega Master System that handles the Sega Light Phaser light gun. I'm very impressed with the quality of the hardware!
I'm currently experimenting with the hardware to see how it could be used to write a light gun game for the Master System. In particular I need to try adding support for a second gun to see if both guns can be tracked simultaneously and I also need to clean up my messy source code. I also plan to experiment with adding a calibration option (the current horizontal scaling values are hard-coded and no vertical correction is performed at all). Once done I'll release a test program for others to try along with source code.
At 2:43 I mention the maximum Y position being unstable, I do of course mean the maximum X position as that's the one jittering all over the place.
