Top 5 Tips to Make your Rewards Program a Success

So here are my top tips for making your rewards program a success.

Tip #1- Give them a variety of ways to earn points. Like 1 point for every dollar spent or 50 points for following you on Instagram. Every customer is different and won’t always want to connect with you on every social media platform so it’s a great idea to give them many options to rack up those points.

Tip #2- Keep it unique to your branding. With Smile.io you can choose your colors and also add in branded images depending on your monthly plan. Plus you can keep it branded in the name itself. So for example, I have a client who sells bath bombs and they call their reward points “tub tokens”. Another client sells jewelry and they call their points “gems”. Making it unique to your brand will engage your audience more.

Tip #3- Make sure your rewards are easy to reach but not too easy that you are losing money. You want them to get some quick wins like at $5 off discount code after one order plus a few follows and you don’t want to make it so unattainable to reach rewards that they lose interest.

Tip #4- Create valuable rewards that they want to earn like a discount code or an exclusive item that isn’t for sale. Get creative and think about your ideal customer and what would be exciting for them to receive.

Tip #5- Mention it everywhere! Once you set up your rewards program the goal is to get everyone who purchases from you both past and present to sign up and start earning points. So you want to mention it in your email campaigns, social media, run retargeting ads to past customers. However you connect with your audience make sure you mention it there and are always mentioning it so it stays top of mind with your audience.
