Spektron - Robo's Theme [Remix] | From Chrono Trigger

This is, for now, the final upload in my streak of challenge submissions for ‪@maxkonyi‬ 's Weekly Production Challenges.

Before I get into any background information about this track at all, I would like to give a special thanks and shoutout to ‪@Sir_Oblivion_yt‬ (sir_oblivion on Instagram) for allowing me to use their exceptional artwork for this upload! It is easily one of my favourite pieces of Chrono Trigger fan art I've seen, and it's an honour to be able to use it to accompany my remix of one of my favourite themes from the game. Thank you so much!!

About the track: This was a challenge submission for Weekly Production Challenge #100. For this centenary occasion, the requirements were as liberating as they were simple: Pick any one of the previous 99 Production Challenges, and produce a track for it!
This was a fantastic opportunity to revisit earlier challenges, from well before I found out these challenges even existed, and so I went on to pick Challenge #44 - "Remix Your Favourite Videogame Track"!

For this remix, I chose to do Robo's Theme from Chrono Trigger, for a variety of reasons. For one, the brevity of the track meant that I wouldn't have to worry about the 1:30 time limit for challenge submissions, and it ensured I'd get the remix done in time.
But, apart from technical reasons, Robo as a character just really resonates with me, especially as a lover of robots myself! And when I heard his theme for the very first time, it, too, truly resonated with me, and I was so delighted that such a wonderful character got such a wonderful theme associated with it.

Fast forward to now, and I'm finally here to upload this remix to YouTube! While I didn't seek to radically overthrow the base structure of the original theme, I really wanted to make it sound more "modern", and give it a wide mix to boot.
This actually features a few self-recorded and self-produced instruments of mine as well, such as the vocal pads near the end - in hopes of giving it a more personal touch.
The arrangement itself was done completely by ear, so I didn't use any existing MIDI files from the internet - in this sense, it was also a great opportunity to refresh my aural skills, too!
