Making Music at Home: Building a Song in Layers

Описание: Recording music in my home studio is one of my favourite things to do. It always starts with a basic idea, then builds and builds with layer upon layer. This latest video in my “Making Music at Home” series dissects how I wrote and recorded my latest single, “Meet me on the Moon”.

I’m not a professional musician - I just love making music and have done so for over 20 years. I’m always looking for ways to build on my skills, learn new techniques and find different ways to express myself and develop my random ideas. I hope this series of videos helps to inspire other home musicians, whether you are just starting out or you already have a full studio setup.

I am Steve Twinley and I write, record and produce music in my home studio in Bognor Regis, West Sussex, UK.

All of my music is self-produced (written, recorded, mixed and mastered) in my home studio. I use Logic Pro X and am happy to share my mastering presets (EQ, compression, reverb, adaptive limiter) as a starting point for your own home recordings (whether you use Logic Pro X as your own DAW, or whether you use free software such as Garageband or Audacity).
