(8 Apr 2017) Hundreds of people gathered on Saturday afternoon at a memorial on the site of the Stockholm beer truck attack that killed four people and injured 15.
Abune Elias Gebregriabher, the Archbishop of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, also laid flowers near the crash site before performing prayers.
The suspect, a 39-year-old native of Uzbekistan, had been on authorities' radar previously, according to Swedish officials.
Although it was not clear how long the suspect had been in Sweden, the Scandinavian country prides itself on welcoming newcomers.
Still the country's open-door immigration policy and comparatively heterogeneous culture has led to frictions, sometimes urban unrest, especially in areas where many long-time immigrants feel disempowered.
