A tragic accident occurred at the Surajkund International Crafts Mela in Faridabad on February 7 when an amusement ride collapsed in two stages, as seen in newly surfaced videos. Police Inspector Jagdish Prasad, who rushed to rescue people after the first structural failure, died when the ride fell again. Around 13 others, including police personnel, were injured and taken to nearby hospitals. Faridabad Police has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) and registered an FIR under BNS Section 105, citing alleged negligence by the ride operator. Authorities have announced financial assistance to the inspector’s family while the investigation continues.
