My rudimentry NAS setup | HP microserver N36L follow-up video

Описание: Apologies for the lack of videos folks. Sometimes, it gets hard to get the motivation to do these videos.

For those of you who did not watch my original video on this thing. I got this little microserver from FB marketplace for £30. The previous owner of it had been using it for blu-ray movie storage and he installed a couple of extra parts to give it a bit of a boost. One was a gigabit NIC and the other was an nvidia gt210. Not powerful at all by todays standards but it served him well.

My main intention for buying this thing was that this was my first major attempt at trying to do a proper NAS setup with somewhat appropriate equipment. Previous to that, I did try using the Dimension 9200 as a NAS (running trueNAS scale just like this one) but its power consumption was a bit of a concern so that fell through.

So far, I am really happy with how its performing and I do plan on doing a lot of changes to both the hardware config and the software config. Hopefully, might even be able to make it so that its accessible anywhere!

Please feel free to leave some helpful comments (or even constructive ones!) I am very much a noob in this whole shaboodle of "home-labbing" and I've got a lot to learn.
