🌾 Wheat Laccha Paratha (Serves 4)
🧺 Ingredients
2 cups whole wheat flour (atta)
¾ cup water (adjust as needed)
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp oil or ghee (for dough)
Melted ghee or oil (for layering & cooking)
Dry flour (for dusting)
👩🍳 Method
1️⃣ Make the dough
In a bowl, mix atta + salt.
Add water gradually and knead into a soft, smooth dough.
Add 2 tbsp oil/ghee and knead again.
Cover and rest 20–30 minutes (very important for good layers).
2️⃣ Shape the laccha
Divide dough into lemon-sized balls.
Roll one ball into a thin circle (like a chapati).
Brush generously with melted ghee/oil.
Sprinkle a little dry flour on top.
👉 Now the magic:
Cut thin strips from the rolled roti or pleat/fold it like a paper fan.
Gather the strips/folded sheet and roll into a loose spiral (coil).
Tuck the end underneath and gently flatten.
3️⃣ Roll again
Dust lightly and roll gently into a medium-thick paratha.
Don’t press too hard—those layers need breathing space!
4️⃣ Cook
Heat a tawa on medium-high.
Cook paratha till bubbles appear, flip.
Apply ghee/oil on both sides and cook till golden brown & crisp.
✨ Pro Tips
More ghee = more layers 😏
Don’t over-roll after coiling.
After cooking, gently crush the paratha between your palms to open the layers (careful, hot!).
