Craving a sweet treat but want to keep it healthy? This video shows you how to make homemade chocolate Twix bars that are sugar free and also a vegan recipe! This healthy recipe uses almond flour recipes and is great for baking.

INGREDIENTS
1.) For the Almond Shortbread Base:
150 g almond flour (or finely ground almonds)
2 tbsp coconut oil or unsalted butter, melted
2 tbsp maple syrup or honey
1 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
2.) For the Date Caramel:
200 g pitted Medjool dates (about 10–12 large)
2–3 tbsp plant-based milk (almond, oat, or coconut)
1 tbsp nut butter (almond, peanut, or tahini)
½ tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Optional: 1 tsp cocoa powder for a deeper taste
3.) For the Chocolate Topping:
150 g dark chocolate (70% or higher), chopped
1 tsp coconut oil (for shine and easy coating)
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: Make the Shortbread Base
Preheat oven to 175 °C. Line a small 15×20 cm or similar baking dish with parchment.
Mix almond flour, melted coconut oil, maple syrup, vanilla, and salt until a dough forms.
Press into the bottom of the pan in an even layer. Pierce with a fork.
Bake for 10–12 min or until lightly golden. Let cool completely.
Step 2: Prepare the Date Caramel
Soak dates in hot water for 10 minutes if they’re dry, then drain.
Blend dates with milk, nut butter, vanilla, salt, and cocoa powder (if using) until very smooth and spreadable.
Spread over the cooled base evenly. Chill in the fridge or freezer until firm.
Step 3: Add the Chocolate Topping
Melt the chocolate and coconut oil over a bain-marie or in short bursts in the microwave.
Pour over the firm caramel layer, tilting the pan to spread evenly.
Chill until fully set—about 1 hour in the fridge or 20 min in the freezer.
Step 4: Slice & Store
Once firm, lift out of the pan and slice into bars with a hot, sharp knife.
Store in the fridge for up to 1 week or freezer for 1 month.
