CERRO DANTAS | Exploring WILD & REMOTE JUNGLES of Costa Rica

This week, we head out to the wild and remote jungles of Cerro Dantas, in Heredia province, Costa Rica. This place is difficult to access, and is tucked away deep into the jungly mountains on the border of Braulio Carillo National Park. There is a wildlife refuge located 2 kms in from the road that leads up to these mountains. This hike is filled with intriguing and beautiful tropical plants, loads of wild animals tracks , and the muddiest and most challenging trails we've ever hiked!

Cerro Dantas Wildlife Refuge does important work in protecting and caring for an area made up of primary and secondary growth tropical cloud forest. It is also home to many species of plants and animals including several endangered species, such as the Baird's Tapir( Danta) and the Lithobates vibicarious ( Green-eyed frog).
