Gerald Alston is a US North Carolina-born soul singer. He was the lead singer of the Manhattans from 1971 till 1988 though he really never left the group and is still making music with surviving members. Alston signed with Motown in 1988 and recorded three excelent albums though his independently produced work and one-off album for Scotti Bros. Records should not be forgotten. The song "Slow Motion" is written by Stan Sheppard of Livin' Proof, Flavor, and Skool Boyz fame. It is taken from Alston's second album "Open Invitation" and was a big hit. A personal favorite if you will along with a few others like "Getting Back Into Love" which I have uploaded from the Japanese CD pressing.
