2026 marks a milestone year for Panmure House as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of Adam Smith’s The Wealth of Nations. To inaugurate a year-long programme of commemorative events, we were honoured to welcome The Right Honourable The Baroness Moyo of Knightsbridge to deliver the opening lecture of the Adam Smith Lecture Series for 2026.
Baroness Moyo’s lecture examined the relevance of Smith’s ideas in relation to four of today’s most pressing global challenges:
🔸Artificial intelligence
🔸Climate change
🔸The energy transition
🔸Deglobalisation and the expanding role of government.
