So...Positive Afformations...
it's more than positive thinking... affirmations such as in Charles Siggler's post...
Noah St. John - Inventor of Afformations, author of book, Positive Afformations suggests we ask ourselves EMPOWERING questions that allow our sub-conscious mind to start to work to find answers to the empowering questions... Empowering questions get empowered answers...
Think about it...when we ask ourselves questions such as, "Why do I always mess stuff up?" or "Why can't I ever get a break?" Your mind automatically starts to come up with answers as to why these things happen.. If someone tell you to not think about the color "blue", what does your mind do??? It thinks about "blue"... SO asking questions yields answers... why not ask questions that will yield better answers?
So Afformations are empowering questions you come up with; in turn your mind begins to find answers to these questions...things start to manifest differently because you start asking better questions & while you may not know the "how" of the "thing", the "thing" starts to manifest b/c your mind & sub-conscious starts to "look" for answers to the empowering questions you are asking...
So, how does it work?
Here are Noah's top 5 suggestions from his book:
Why am I so rich?
Why am I so happy?
Why am I able to achieve goals?
Why am I good enough?
Why do I have what it takes to succeed?
Why does money seem to find me everywhere I go?
Why am I able to bless others abundantly?
Do you see how forming those as questions forces your mind to start working to find answers? It shifts your focus. We all know you can only really truly focus on one thing at a time...so why not start with a focus on an empowering question?
So here is your action plan:
1. Get the book, Positive AffOrmations; read it; read it again; take action & follow the activities assigned in the book
2. Take the time now to write out your top ten AffOrmations...empowering questions that your mind will start to try to answer for you...
3. Read these questions every morning, every afternoon, and every night. When you have some answers start to form, write the answers down.
