J.R.R. Tolkien's work has made some memorable appearances on BBC radio, including the legendary serialisation of The Lord of the Rings starring Ian Holm and Bill Nighy. That won't be appearing on this channel, but instead here is a short series of dramatisations of Tolkien's stories which originated on BBC Radio 5.
This final tale relates an episode from The Lord of the Rings, one usually excised from adaptations including the radio version. This adaptation finally brought this adventure for Frodo and his companions to the radio...
