Sanford Hill, a 72-year-old resident of Lahaina, recounted the moments he left his senior living building as flames continued to enclose the entire Maui town. Hill also spoke about his survivor’s guilt, explaining that he’s not sure which of his neighbors survived, and lamented that the authorities could have better communicated evacuation plans.
