Japan researchers develop blood test that can predict severity of COVID-19

Описание: Japanese researchers said they have developed a blood test that can predict how severe COVID-19 symptoms will be. The team from the National Center for Global Health and Medicine studied the concentration of five types of proteins in blood samples from 28 coronavirus patients. They found that patients who developed serious symptoms had lower-than-usual levels of the CCL-17 protein during the earlier stages. The centre aims to produce a test kit soon to help identify at-risk patients and enable early intervention.
