Here are some tips for sorghum farming:

Sowing
Sow seeds in mid-June to mid-July, or in mid-March for early green fodder. Space seeds 45 cm apart, and sow at a depth of 2-3 cm. Use a seed rate of 30-35 kg/acre.

Weed control
Use the pre-emergence herbicide Atrazine 50 WP – 500 gm /ha on 3 days after sowing. Then weed by hand 40-45 days after sowing. You can also plow during winter or early spring to control weeds.

Irrigation
Irrigate at critical stages like tillering, flowering, and grain formation.

Fertilizer
Top-dress with nitrogenous fertilizer, such as 1 bag/acre of CAN or NPK 20:20:0 when at knee high. Always put nitrogenous fertilizer in a 15cm ring around the sorghum plant.

Protect against soil-borne diseases
Treat seeds with 4 gm of 300 mesh sulfur powder and 25 gm of Azotobacter per kg of seed.
