Palestinian Couple Harassed in Chicago for Wearing Palestinian Hoodies | Islam Channel

Описание: In a shocking incident at a Downers Grove Panera Bread in Chicago, a husband and his pregnant wife were subjected to verbal and physical abuse. The couple, identified as Waseem Zahran and his wife, reported being yelled at, cussed at, slapped, and having coffee thrown on them.

The altercation allegedly began when a woman noticed Zahran's Palestinian sweater and responded with derogatory remarks, including "F*** Palestine."

Zahran, said in a interview "She walked by, and she saw my Palestinian sweater, and that caused her to say, like ‘F*** Palestine’ and like other, like, 'F*** you, f*** Palestine"

Panera Bread released a statement about the incident Sunday night.

"We are aware of the unfortunate incident that happened in our bakery-cafe, and we are working with our team to look into this matter. Panera seeks to foster a warm and welcoming environment for all."

The woman involved in the attack has been identified, but no charges have been filed yet. Downers Grove police are currently investigating the case.
