Jesus then taught her the full structure, promising extraordinary graces, including great mercy at the hour of death for those who recite it, and even standing as Merciful Savior between the dying person and the Just Judge when prayed at their bedside.

The core prayers are simple yet profound: "Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world," followed by ten repetitions of "For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world."

Jesus asked St. Faustina to pray it especially at three o'clock (the Hour of Great Mercy, recalling His death on the Cross) and as a novena before Divine Mercy Sunday. Today, this devotion, canonized through her in 2000 by Pope John Paul II, spreads worldwide as a lifeline of trust in God's infinite mercy.
