“In this regard, political efforts are ongoing, and the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seeks to resolve the issue through diplomatic channels. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan has held telephone conversations with the foreign ministers of various countries, clearly outlining Afghanistan’s position and policy. It has been emphasized that Afghanistan did not initiate the war but is engaged in a defensive conflict. The country that has committed aggression against us and martyred innocent Afghans must be compelled to respond for these crimes and attacks and to immediately cease its aggression."

“It must be clearly stated that we did not choose war. We have repeatedly declared that we do not want war. But unfortunately, the Pakistani military regime has repeatedly violated our territory and martyred our civilian compatriots in bombings. As a result, no other option remained. Therefore, the Ministry of Defense of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has launched an operation named “Radd-ul-Zalm (Rejection of Cruelty).”

STORYLINE:
Hamdullah Fitrat, deputy spokesman for the Afghan government, on Tuesday accused Pakistan of violating Afghan airspace and targeting public areas in Kabul, Laghman, Nangarhar, Paktia, Kandahar, and Kunar provinces, apart from targeting refugee camps.

He said that these attacks had resulted in the death of 110 civilians, including 65 women and children.

“It must be clearly stated that we did not choose war," said Enayatullah Khawarazmi, the spokesman for Afghanistan's Defense Ministry.

Khawarazmi said in a statement that Afghan forces had also responded to Pakistan's attacks in the past 24 hours, destroying about a dozen posts and killing four Pakistani soldiers.

He said that so far, 28 Afghan soldiers had died and 42 others had been wounded in the fighting.

Afghanistan's ground forces attacked Pakistan's military positions at 16 locations along the southwestern border early Tuesday and fired on multiple points in the northwest, triggering intense clashes in which 67 Afghan security force members and one Pakistani soldier were killed, as fighting between the two neighbours entered its fifth consecutive day, officials said.

Pakistan “successfully repelled these multiple attacks" along the Afghan border, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said.

Afghan forces carried out ground assaults in 16 locations in the southwestern districts of Qilla Saifullah, Nushki and Chaman in Balochistan province, Tarar said on X.

In retaliatory attacks, Pakistan killed 27 members of Afghan forces, he said.
