In the cinema, they cannot play you the true loudness of guns, and it is a good thing that they don't try. Here I make two main points: 1. guns are loud, and 2. possibly they can sometimes be quiet.
I know people are going to ask, so I'll answer it here: no, the pistol shown is not real.
