Volkswagen Golf GTI 2025 review: Iconic hot hatch car gets big update – but does it go far enough?

Описание: The 2025 Volkswagen Golf has arrived as the midlife facelift for the eighth-generation small car. Aptly dubbed '8.5', the much-need update ushers in several key changes for the long-running series, including the return of physical buttons for the steering wheel, while its divisive slider climate-control panel is now backlit for improved usability at night.

While these may sound like minor differences, they really add up for the Golf, which arguably took a step back when its '8' model launched a few years ago. Buyers are more likely to be drawn to the 8.5's larger touchscreen multimedia system or its sharper exterior looks. Meanwhile, petrolheads will love the idea of the sporty GTI grade getting an extra 15kW of power, bringing its total to a considerable 195kW.
