a paralysis of thoughtfulness with thoughtlessness
run along now under the master's whip
don't be moved or shaken, be unmovable

If I could be anything
I'd lay in Empyrean fields
If I could be nothing
then surely no yearning would follow me

In quiet desperation
a small act will go a long way
a touchstone to see the day through
watch the world shake
(watch the tide turn)

Chasms of wishfullness abound to sink a contentment
a hope is an anchor, a millstone, a reason for life
the hand that whips is the hand that hurts
and through its own lustfulness burns itself black
