HMP Grendon is renowned for its unique approach as the UK’s only fully therapeutic community prison. Located near the village of Grendon Underwood in Buckinghamshire, HMP Grendon provides a distinctive environment focused on rehabilitation through intensive group therapy and a community-based model.
As a Category B/C prison, HMP Grendon houses adult male offenders. The prison has an operational capacity of 238 inmates and is organised into five wings, each operating as a Democratic Therapeutic Community (DTC). This structure promotes responsibility, social participation, and personal development among prisoners.
