Holden V8 Supercar - Race One - Super Saloons & Tin Tops - Brands Indy - 16/08/25 - First Place
Starting on the outside of the track and with a nifty FWD touring car on the inside. It was expected to be a real struggle, especially until the tyres switch on.
To our amazement and probably Alex's too, he was in the lead round the outside into turn one.
A squirt of V8 power up to Druids, defending the line knowing that the TCR car was going to be better into, round and out the corners. Especially until there was some grip from the round rubbery things.
Alex was definitely on it, posting a 50.2 on cold tyres on just lap three and a 50.1 on lap four! Times that were generally reserved for tyres that were up to temp!
It was then an 18 lap battle to hold the lead with both cars showing their strengths and weaknesses. Plus the job of safley navigating round the cars in lower classes as they were lapped.
At the end of the 18 laps, the fire breathing Holden was victorious and took the win!
Another couple of laps in the 49's during the race too.
