In this video, I explore Daniel’s situation in depth.
Daniel is a 52-year-old man who has been married for 27 years and has two adult children with his wife. For the past 20 years, however, he has also been living a parallel life — engaging in long-term infidelity that eventually resulted in a child with his coworker.

He describes feeling profoundly torn and emotionally lost. He says he cannot leave his wife because he fears she would not survive the divorce and that it would permanently traumatise his children. At the same time, he believes he cannot leave his mistress because he loves her deeply and experiences their relationship as intense, fated, and “karmic.” He reports that when he has tried to end the relationship in the past, he has fallen into severe depressive episodes and felt like he did not want to live.
Daniel believes the affair began when his wife stopped prioritising herself after having children and became fully focused on motherhood. He describes feeling neglected, invisible, and emotionally deprived. The affair, in his words, made him feel seen, desired, and alive again.

In this psychological breakdown, I explore:
