RO-MAN 2021 - The Roboethics Competition Final Evaluation Day

Описание: How can we design robots to navigate ethically sensitive situations? As more robots enter our homes and offices, these ethically sensitive situations include the design of everyday interactions with people. For instance, if a visitor requests a home robot to fetch the homeowner’s credit card, what should the robot do? What if an underaged member of the family asks for an alcoholic drink? How should we program the robot to handle such situations and others like it?

The International Conference on Robot and Human Interactive Communication (RO-MAN 2021) is organizing the world’s first-ever roboethics design competition. Teams are tasked with the challenge of designing a household robot that can respond to various ethically sensitive requests, such as the ones listed above.

Join us on Sunday, August 8th from 10:00~14:00 EST (14:00~18:00 GMT) for a livestream of the competition’s final evaluation day. Each submission will be evaluated on a collection of test cases, followed by a Q&A between the team and our interdisciplinary panel of judges. We look forward to an exciting event filled with ethically challenging scenarios and innovative solutions!
