We Bought An Abandoned Farmhouse: Restoring Our Dream Home

Описание: Welcome to our house in France.

We first saw this restoration project in the spring of 2020.

It had broken windows, a leaky roof, no water, electricity or heating. In fact it had been abandoned for almost 30 years.

Finally getting the keys in February 2021, we eventually moved in August of the same year.

With very limited funds, our goal from the outset was to tackle every job ourselves.

In the short time since moving in, we've finished the plumbing, broken the back of the electrics and discovered ancient mysteries in our garden.

We're even having a lot of fun along the way.

Life has never been better!

Our Dream Derelict Home In The Sun had been abandoned since the early 90's.

It had no running water, electric, heating or septic tank. There were broken windows, holes in the roof, woodworm and black mould growing up the walls.
The only occupants for decades had been rodents, bats, bees and hoards of other creepy crawlies.

DIY house renovation isn't for everyone and many locals are simply shocked and amazed that two unskilled Brits have taken up the challenge of renovating an abandoned house.
Follow us along our journey as we get our 1860's rural property in the Creuse back to life. This is not a renovation fixer upper, this is a full house renovation from top to bottom, with even the mortar being stripped form the remaining walls.
