Here Mr Adrian Byrne gives a detailed explanation how to do a sitting stance middle punch for Taekwon-Do training.
This is one of the first techniques you will learn and most likely will be asked at your first Taekwondo grading.
Sitting Stance:
Feet are one and a half shoulder width apart.
The toes point forwards.
Both knees are bent.
The kneecaps bending outwards until they reach over the ball of the foot.
Keep a tall posture with the upper body and head remaining upright.
Middle Punch:
Extend a punch at shoulder level.
Between the first and second knuckle is on the center line (same line as nose).
Begin your punch from the hip.
Pull the opposite hand to the hip as the punch moves out.
Body is full facing with both shoulders facing forwards.
Squeeze the fist tightly.
Place the thumb underneath on the second finger.
The other hand returns to the belt (At the hip).
