Khichdi is basically prepared with rice and lentils. I made just with rice and moong dal.Usually khichdi is served with yogurt, pickle.. Its a delicious healthy recipe with lots of health benefits
Ingredients:
1 cup rice
1/2 cup yellow lentils or moong dal
1 tomato
1 green chilli
1 tbs ginger Julianne
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tbs chopped garlic
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
2-3 tbs ghee or clarified butter
Salt as per taste
Water
Method:
Soak rice and lentils for 20 minutes.
Wash and add this in a pressure cooker.
Add tomatoes.
Green chilli and ginger Julianne.
Add turmeric powder and salt as per taste.
Cook till 4-5 whistles.
In a pan add clarified butter and add cumin seeds.
Add garlic and fry till garlic become brown.
Add boiled dal and rice.
Add little water and cook till it boil.
Before serve this recipe add ghee or clarified butter on the top of khichadi.
Garnish with some coriander leaves.
Serve it hot with pickle, chutney or curd.
