This is an unedited recording from my walk to lighthouse on Muckle Flugga at Hemaness, Unst, Shetland on 11th July 2024. (It was a windy day, and I was walking into the wind with microphone in camera housing making the sound worse.)
ABOUT WALK
Walk started at entrance to nature reserve, just above old lighthouse shore station, and headed towards West coast and information board, where the right (North) path was taken along the coast, with great views of cliffs, birds, Yell and Northmavine. Return to start was via climbing up to viewpoint on hill and then walking back along ridge. Walk took about 3 hours, including lunch overlooking Muckle Flugga, and became 9.5 km long.
ABOUT EQUIPMENT
Walk was recorded using an action camera mounted on handle with battery and a handheld navigator, and photos taken using DSLR camera with zoom lens and mobile phone.
I use a pair of boots with a hard sole and that give my ankles support, which allows me to walk on uneven surfaces.
