I scraped rust off my most weather worn hobo stove. I got about a half teaspoon of powder which I rolled in an entire cotton ball. THAT ignition came easily. The tinder bundle ignition, not so much. Because the leaves straight off the ground had too much moisture in them to ignite, I had to improvised. Finding 3 Kudzu leaves amongst and within the tinder bundle, I used them with what remained of the fire roll ember to get flames. Those 3 flaming leaves made the rest of the tinder bundle catch and burn easily. Learning to improvise may be the most important of fire making.
