Quarterbacks Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels and 10 other prospects expected to be selected in the first round took part in an event with Special Olympics athletes on the eve of the NFL Draft in Detroit.
The prospects played in a flag football game/clinic with the athletes on Wednesday at a ballpark in Detroit, not far from where NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will read their names on Thursday night.
“As a kid, I did dream of this. I set my goals, I went after it, I got it. I'm here,” said USC’s Caleb Williams, the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner who is expected to be taken first overall by the Chicago Bears. “I'm ready for the moment. I've been preparing mentally for it.
