(The Mountain Chakra) — I Walk the Mountain is loosely divided into 3 sections. The instrumental section in the beginning of the song represents an initial "touching" of The Mountain Chakra. At that stage, the person does not yet know what happened. When listening to the lyrics, the listener may think this is a song about a person wanting to escape the complexities, rigors and hassles of city life and move to the country where the pace of life is slower. In the countryside, and especially high up on a mountain, you can breathe in fresh air and feel and see all of Nature’s beauties. In this first section, the person realizes there is something besides the mundane, everyday world of one's 3-D existence.
The phrase "I Walk the Mountain" esoterically refers to knowing about and meditating on the Brahmarandhra Chakra which is called “The Mountain Chakra” in Esoteric Acupuncture Theory. The Mountain Chakra is one of the higher head chakras and is located intracranially. The ascension of Kundalini usually terminates in the region of the Bramarandhra Chakra and will not ascend to the Guru Chakra or Sahasrara/Crown Chakra (both located above the cranium) unless certain criteria are met.
The longer of the 2 guitar solos (played by Edwing) begins the second section of this song and represents a transitioning period for the person. At this stage, there is much confusion and anguish plus other emotional and mental questions that need to be sorted out.
Eventually the guitar solo transitions into a flowing third section which introduces the violin and viola played by Jean Sudbury. The person in the song now knows it is time to focus on activating and awakening the Brahmarandhra Chakra shown though the lyrics, "I walk the Inner Mountain late at night, guided by my internal Spirit Light." This is followed by a ukulele solo played by Edwing.
A more in-depth explanation of the lyrics to I Walk the Mountain are explained in the book called The Acupuncture Set (written by Mikio Sankey) which explains how the lyrics to many of the songs by the Mountain Castle Band are esoterically connected to Esoteric Acupuncture.
