King (@theblackgirlscientist) is a scientist, engineer, researcher, and STEM diversity advocate dedicated to advancing renewable energy, waste reduction, and environmental solutions. With experience across private industry, the U.S. DOE, DoD, and EPA, her research spans thermal and biological conversion of organic waste, renewable energy, solid waste management, and PFAS mitigation. A proud Richmond, VA native now in Washington, D.C., she holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Old Dominion University, an M.S. from Johns Hopkins, and a B.S. from William & Mary. As founder of BlackGirlScientist, LLC, Dr. King empowers women and girls in STEM by building a community of encouragement, representation, and knowledge.
